Closing off Comments
Well, the spammers have finally done it. I’ve gotten so sick of dealing with spam that I’ve decided to no longer allow comments on my blog. I will slowly but surely remove the ability for older posts to have comments and will not be allowing comments to any new posts. I’m deeply disappointed in having to do this, but I’m sick of constantly having to delete the crap they put on my site. If you do have something to say, feel free to email it to me and if you give permission (and I think about it), I’ll post it here.

Ya, there’s nofollow, but it doesn’t really stop spammers. I’ve gotten almost 2,000 spam comments in the last couple weeks since I implemented akismet… that’s 2,000 comment that not only had they appeared would have had nofollow, but that didn’t even appear at all! So I don’t think the spammers really care about nofollow. And truth be told, I’d rather not have to resort to that. I mean, if you come and provide something useful to my site, why shouldn’t you get some small credit of another link to your site for Google’s Page rank…

No follow does not stop spammers because many of them does not know what nofollow means. Robots are blind.

Hi Misc. I think the spammers uses many weblogs to post links but I think this is one reason of existing blogs…
